Erin Rinner: The role of client representative is new to me actually – I spent the last 25 years as a mainframe technical advocate – assisting mainframe clients modernize and maintain their z environment.
I spent a lot of time in data centers in the wee hours making sure a processor upgrade went smoothly. As a client representative for SVA Software - my focus is different – but my goal is the same. I want to help mainframe users keep their environments up and running efficiently and cost-effectively.
Erin Rinner: It is exciting to be on the software side of things! As a hardware engineer my favorite joke to tell was ‘how many systems programmers does it take to change a light bulb’.
But seriously - the most exciting part so far is getting to share what SVA software (zWR) and services can do. Before joining I saw first hand what a huge difference an engagement with SVA Software made in terms of availability of resources and cost control.
Erin Rinner: I’m only 6 months into it but it is so fun!
My favorite pieces so far have been the theme song to Game of Thrones (so dramatic!) and Clocks by Coldplay.
Some of my favorites were Mammoth Cave, Big Sur and Joshua Tree. Some of the adventures ended up being ‘never again’ – like the unfortunate time I decided to tour the inside of the St Louis arch- but the memories good and bad are priceless..
Erin Rinner: Ooh - my favorite thing is to talk about my hobby! I am an artist, I play with all sorts of different mediums, but mostly epoxy resin.
I create art and decorative items out of vintage pieces. Right now I’m working on a sculpture/light installation piece using an old Jeep Wrangler grill.
